Dental Health Tips: Signs You Should Visit Your Dentist

Hey all you readers out there! I'm glad to be back again with some more dental health tips. I hope you have been enjoying my posts recently and I hope that I can keep bringing you some wonderful dental health tips. Today I am going to write about signs that you need to visit your dentist but first I wanted to offer something to all of you.

Signs that you should give your dentist a call

If you have any of the following symptoms you should call your dentist and schedule an appointment immediately

  • Tender, Swollen, or Red Gums
  • Gums that bleed excessively or every time you brush
  • Pus anywhere in your mouth or gums
  • Gums that are coming off or pulling away from your teeth
  • Constant and consistent bad taste in your mouth
  • Loose teeth or teeth that have fallen out
  • Changes in your teeth shape
  • Changes in the position of your teeth
  • Extreme sensitivity to hot
  • Extreme sensitivity to cold
  • Pain in any teeth or a toothache
  • Black marks on teeth that could indicate a cavity

Dental Health Tips: General Dental Health

Hey everybody! I am back again with some general tips to help you improve your dental health. Some of these tips are brought to you by the Mayo Clinic. If you are interesting in getting serious about or Dental health and overall health then take a look around my blog and learn all about what you can do to improve your oral health and in turn improve your overall health.

General Oral Health Care Tips

If you are interested in great oral health then there is no substitute for brushing and flossing your teeth. These are the two mainstays to brushing but there are other things you can do to help improve your dental health even more.

  • Use a waterpik to help clean along your gums lines
  • Use mouthwash after brushing and flossing to help reduce bacteria and plaque
  • Use a dental pick to help clean between your teeth
  • Brush after each time that you eat, not just twice a day
  • Floss after each meal, not just twice a day
  • Stay away from really sugary foods
  • If you eat sugary foods brush your teeth immediately afterwards
  • Make sure to visit your dentist once every 6 months
  • Brush your teeth after eating highly acidic foods
